Watercolour classes

Classes take place on Tuesday afternoon with local artist Nora Yates.

Cost: £7.00 per session.

French and Italian classes

If you are travelling to France or Italy or just fancy learning a language for fun, then these classes could be just for you. Classes for beginners and intermediates run weekly in term time on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Details of the latest courses are - French here, and Italian details here

Rag rug classes

World-renowned rug-maker Heather Ritchie runs afternoon sessions (2.00-4.00pm) on the first and third Monday of the month; and evening sessions (7.00-9.00pm) on the first Monday of the month. Beginners are most welcome.

Patchwork and quilting group

The Station Quilters meet on the first Thursday of the month (7.00-9.00pm). Beginners are most welcome.

Jewellery group

Beginners and those who already make jewellery are most welcome to come along to learn new techniques and share their ideas. The group meets on the second Thursday of the month (7.00-9.00pm).

Knitting group

There are two knitting groups at The Station. The afternoon group meets (1.30 - 4.00pm) on the first Wednesday of the month and the evening group meets (7.00-9.00pm) on the third Tuesday of the month. Both groups are made up of both beginners and experts and are very informal - come along and share patterns and techniques and socialise!

Cost: £2 per session.

No need to book, just drop in.

Music with Mummy

A chance to socialise as well as develop budding musical talent! Sessions take place on Tuesday morning (10.00am-12noon).

Station Singers

Our three new Community Choirs have been meeting with great success and enjoyment since September 2011, and are now open to new singers for the 2012 Winter to Summer season.

“Platform One”, Wednesday 10.00 – 11.30, meeting in Screen 2, is suitable for anyone who likes to sing.

“Platform Two”, Wednesday 11.45- 1.15, meeting in Screen 2, is suitable for singers who have basic music reading skills.

“The Branch Line”, Thursday 20.00- 21.30, meeting in Richmond Town Hall, caters for anyone who likes to sing; music readers and non-music-readers alike.

All groups share the aims of having an enjoyable time singing; working towards a common goal; having fun, and making new friends along the way. Just sign up for the group which most appeals.

Winter/Spring term, 10 wks, £50, runs 18/19 Jan - 8/9 Feb & 22/23 Feb - 28/29 March

Easter/Summer term, 6 wks, £25, runs 18/19 April - 23/24 May

Fees can be paid termly or both terms together (discounted to £70).

You can try any of the choirs for £5 'taster fee', deducted from the term fee if you join.
