The architectural and historical importance of Richmond's old station is reflected in its status as a Grade 2* listed structure. The design and execution of the renovation work have been carried out with great care and sensitivity to preserve the historic nature of the building.
As Richmond's railway station was largely unaltered during its lifetime, many of the original features can still be seen inside and outside the building, from the 268-yard-long platform to the ornate ceiling arches.
